Campsite safety

Please call 07448 27633(EIGHT) if you wish to discuss any fire safety matters with Paul the Campsite owner

Campfires are a big part of the camping experience at Primrose Smallholding. We’re happy to allow them on site, provided they’re used safely and with consideration for others, the land, and our animals.

The guidance below helps keep everyone safe and ensures we can continue to allow fires.

🔥 Campfires on Site

  • Campfires are allowed in fire pits only
  • Fire pits are available to hire on site
  • Fires must not be lit directly on the ground
  • Fires must be supervised at all times

🪵 Firewood

  • You’re welcome to bring your own firewood
  • Firewood is also be available to purchase on site
  • Please do not burn rubbish, plastics, or treated wood

🚫 When Fires Are Not Allowed

  • Fires may need to be restricted during very dry or windy conditions
  • Any temporary restrictions will be explained on arrival
  • These decisions are made for safety and to protect the land.

🧯 Fire Safety

  • Keep water nearby in case it’s needed
  • Never leave a fire unattended
  • Fully extinguish fires before going to bed or leaving your pitch
  • Ensure ashes are cold before disposal in the general waste bin

🧒 Children & Fires

  • Children must be supervised at all times around fires
  • Please ensure children understand fire safety

🌿 Respecting the Site

  • Please be mindful of neighbouring campers
  • Keep smoke to a minimum
  • Avoid burning late into the night

Looking after the site helps us keep it open and enjoyable for future guests.

⚠️ Important Note

Failure to follow fire guidance may result in campfires being extinguished or, in rare cases, guests being asked to leave. This is very uncommon, but helps keep everyone safe.
