These days, many campsites seem to charge for absolutely everything and that can quickly add up, especially for larger families. At Primrose Smallholding & Camping, we like to keep things simple and affordable, so your hard earned cash goes that bit further:
(Monday - Thursdays)
Friday - Sundays
Children and young people (under 18) are completely FREE
You’ll also pay zero, nothing, nein, nada for your beloved dog, extra tents, gazebos, parking, infact, anything else that makes your camping life easier or more enjoyable!
Dust off that tent, pack up the BBQ, bring your favourite drinks (you will anyway) and pray for some decent weather!

In 2026, our family-focused and pet-friendly campsite will be open for the early May Bank Holiday, the May half-term week, and the main school summer holidays.
Tucked away in a peaceful rural spot near Holme Lacy, with beautiful sunset views over Dinedor Hill, and yet, we’re just five miles from the historic city of Hereford.
We keep things relaxed by limiting the site to just 25 spacious pitches across our three-acre field. Most campers set up along the boundary, so there’s no tripping over guy lines — just plenty of space for children to play while the grown-ups sit back and enjoy the view (perhaps with a glass of wine in hand!)
Although we operate as a ‘pop-up’ campsite (so no permanent structures), we make every effort to provide spotlessly clean and well-maintained facilities for all our guests.
New for 2026:
We’ve increased the number of event-style toilets and added a men’s urinal block, all cleaned and emptied regularly to ensure everything stays fresh.
Our well used pot wash area now has hot running water, making washing up after meals that bit easier. We’ve also redesigned our field shelter area, which now includes:
To help us look after the environment, you’ll find clearly marked recycling bins around the site — part of our effort to reduce waste and encourage everyone to recycle.
And finally, our hugely popular shower unit will be back for 2026, ready to keep everyone looking good and feeling refreshed!
Every morning at 9am, Campers can join our free guided animal tour — one of the highlights of a stay at Primrose Smallholding.
Meet our friendly pigs, pygmy goats, sheep, and chickens, they are always hungry and keen for their breakfast! Children (and grown-ups too) are welcome to help with feeding and learn a little more about what’s involved in caring for animals on a smallholding.
The tour usually lasts 30–40 minutes, depending on group size and questions, and it’s a relaxed, hands-on way to start your day before heading out to visit all that Herefordshire offers.
Whether you join in or just watch from the sidelines, it’s a lovely opportunity to meet our animals, and take some great photos.
Relax — you’re on holiday! Let the kids run free, light up the BBQ, or gather around your firepit as the sun sets over the fields and the sky fills with stars. On a clear night, our peaceful rural setting becomes a fantastic stargazing spot — perfect for winding down together after a busy day.
Our Herefordshire campsite is ideal for families, couples, and solo travellers looking for peace, space, and fresh air. (Sorry - we don’t host stag or hen groups.)
There’s plenty to see and do nearby to keep both children and adults entertained throughout your stay. Why not explore our top picks and local recommendations in the dropdown menu at the top of the page — full of ideas for great days out, scenic walks, and family adventures.
We’d love to welcome you to Primrose Smallholding & Campsite. Whether you’re here for a peaceful weekend, a family adventure, or simply to unwind under the stars, you’ll find plenty of space, friendly animals, and a truly relaxed atmosphere.
Book early — we only open for 60 days a year and spaces go quickly!
