Primrose Smallholding & Campsite

Primrose Smallholding operates a small, pop up Campsite for tents only.

We are open for selected dates during the school holiday period:

Our family focussed campsite is based in a 3 acre field in rural Herefordshire. We have plenty of space for our campers because we limit our numbers to just 20 pitches. This ensures everyone has lots of room to pitch with plenty of space for children to run about and play safely.

We have new  'Event' style toilets which are emptied regularly, immaculately cleaned and deodorised at regular intervals throughout the day. There is also a free electric central charging point to keep your mobile phones topped up and a fresh drinking water tap to help with cooking and washing up.

BBQs or Fire Pits may be used on our site. Our only stipulation is that all fires are attended by an adult at all times and there are no ground fires for safety reasons.

We have a designated area where children can play on (and jump off) a collection of straw bales. It's amazing what good old fashioned fun can be had this way!  

You are welcome to bring well behaved dogs, but it is super important to clean up after them and please keep on a lead at all times unless your dog is properly recall trained.

If you fancy eating out or having a drink or two in Hereford (or one of our surrounding villages), we also offer our own subsidised, licensed minibus service every evening - (booked separately). How good is that!

As a working smallholding (sometimes called a hobby farm), we always have a variety of livestock & poultry to look after, this means feeding, cleaning, hoof trimming, vaccinations, welfare checks and generally tidying up after them! 

When you arrive at Primrose Smallholding Campsite, you can book a free session (usually morning slots) to walk with Paul or Jane on our feeding rounds so you can learn a little more about our animals. You can also help to feed them if you want to*

We have 20 barn rescued chickens, we do our best to give these birds a lovely retirement home after their previous life in a commercial poultry environment. Why not buy some fresh eggs for breakfast* - and pick your own too! 

We also have a number of cheeky Pygmy goats that are always looking for tasty treats (rich tea biscuits are the gold standard)! but we have to limit these treats as goats will just keep on eating.

Pigs - we usually have 2 or 3 weaners (piglets that have ceased feeding on mums milk) every summer, these animals are super intelligent and very friendly.

Finally, we have a little flock of Herdwick sheep, our 6 beauties have panda like smiley faces, very cute to look at but they are a little people  shy at the moment!
